Sherry Dawn Whiddon

Sherry Dawn Whiddon, 67, of Ashburn passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024 at her home on Whiddon Road surrounded by her family.

Sherry was born in Remerton on June 16, 1956 to the late Paul and Jeannette Townsend Wofford. She lived in Ashburn with her family for the last 46 years. Sherry was of Christian faith and active in Harmony Baptist Church for many years. Sherry was known for her kind heart through her many years of nursing before retiring from Tift Regional Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her 6 grandsons. 

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary Whiddon; children, Dawn (Chris) Floyd of Tifton, Keri (Bryan) Altman of Carrollton, and Shane Whiddon of Ashburn; brothers-in-law, Garland Whiddon and George Whiddon, sister-in-law, Glenda Whiddon Adams; and grandchildren, Preston Altman, Caleb Altman, Garyn Altman, Logan Floyd, Bryce Floyd, and Mason Whiddon. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommy Wofford, Mick Wofford, Belinda Pound, Paula Hughes, and Patricia Robertson

The funeral service will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Harmony Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6-8PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
