The following obituary is posted as a courtesy to the McWilliams family and Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
Ronald Lemance McWilliams, 89, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Ronald was born on October 15, 1936, in Decatur, Georgia, to the late William Greer McWilliams and Lillie Belle (Lynch) McWilliams.
From a young age, Ronald felt a strong calling to serve his country. He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he dedicated many honorable years of service and retired with distinction as a Master Sergeant (MSgt).
Ronald was married to the love of his life, Martha Anne (Ellerbee) McWilliams, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—drinking coffee and sharing stories with his buddies, caring for his beloved cats, and working on the family farm with his in-laws. Above all, Ronald’s greatest pride and happiness came from his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Joe McWilliams, Ed McWilliams, Janet Stephenson, and Weyman McWilliams.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Martha Anne; daughters Sharon Welch (Wayne) of Warner Robins, GA, and Laurie Pam (Mark) of Kathleen, GA; son Michael McWilliams of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren Jennifer Long (Ben), Steven Welch (Stephanie), Marisa Foy (William), and Macy Pam; and great-grandchildren Kierstin Long, Lorelai Welch, Christina Welch, Emilia Foy, and Audrey Foy.
A service to honor Ronald’s life will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Pastor Jerry Cooper and Pastor Larry Dean will officiate.
Ronald’s life was one of love, service, and devotion—qualities that will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
