Mitzi Akin Smith

Mitzi Akin Smith, 75, of Tifton passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Tift Regional Hospital.

Mitzi was born on April 23, 1948 to the late Vermelle “Honey” Akin. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tifton and a retired Registered Nurse. Mitzi enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on their trips to the beach and mountains.

She is survived by her sons, Jake Smith (Jamie Eaton) of Tifton and Sam Smith (Crystal) of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lennon Dearborn, Piper Smith and Lola Smith. She is also survived by a host of other family members.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
