Merilyn Kay Snow Collins

Merilyn Kay Snow Collins, 72, of Rebecca, GA passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at her residence.

Merilyn was born on November 13, 1949 in Fitzgerald to the late Edward James, Sr. and Mildred Louise Brown Snow. A life-time citizen of Turner County, she worked as a program assistant with the Turner County 4 H Program  for many years. Merilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Rebecca United Methodist Church and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.    

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Gene Collins of Rebecca, as well as her daughter Sherrie (Al) Smith of Ashburn, GA and her son James “Jim” (Miranda) Collins of Perry, GA. She is also survived by her brother, Edward James, Jr. (Nan) Snow, of Mineral Bluff, GA, Sisters-in-laws, Helen Snow of Valdosta, Judy Snow of Birmingham, AL, Margaret Wallace of Macon, GA and Mary Anne Collins of Rochelle, GA. Merilyn also is survived by her grandson, Luke Alaxandar Smith, as well as her “cousin-sister” and best friend, Glenda Sanders and her beloved chi-weenie, Prissy, affectionately referred to as her “baby”. 

In addition to her parents, Merilyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Emmett Snow and George Snow.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rebecca. The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary an hour prior to service at 1:00PM. Interment following at the church cemetery.
