Matthew Brian Crissman

Matthew Brian Crissman, 49, of Cordele passed away Wednesday July 27, 2022, at Crisp Regional Hospital.

Brian was born in Metter on January 8, 1973, and was the son of the late John Grady and Karen V. Shipman Mathis. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cordele. Brian was a diehard Crisp County Cougar fan. He could be found in the Cougar Den every Friday night cheering on his beloved Cougars. He was also a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. Brian enjoyed watching game shows, especially The Price Is Right. He had a knack for being able to predict which pricing game that would be played next based on the contestant’s and host’s location on the stage. 

Brian is survived by his wife, Donna Crissman of Cordele; daughter, Megan (Fiance, Broc Giddens) of Milan; brother, David (Suzi) Mathis of Ashburn; sisters, Laura Walls and Lori Crissman of Sylvania; nephews, Christopher Cole of Augusta and Liam, Pax and Fitz Mathis of Ashburn; step-daughters, Elizabeth Thomas of Jacksonville, FL and Katherine Thomas of Birmingham, AL; and step-grandchildren, Hunter Giddens, Layton Giddens and Brayden Giddens.

In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Crissman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery in Worth County. The family will greet friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
