Lydia Story Edwards

Lydia Story Edwards, 91, of Americus passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Magnolia Manor in Americus.

Lydia was born on August 2, 1931 in Turner County to the late Glenn and Pauline Howell Story. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Albany. She volunteered many hours at church and also served as the church librarian. Lydia also enjoyed arranging flowers and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Robin) Edwards of Isle of Palm, South Carolina, Alan (Yvonne) Edwards of Perry and Van (Christa) Edwards of Fayetteville; sister, Betty Bryant of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Katie Edwards, Grey Edwards, Meghan Edwards, Hannah (Bryce) Driver, Jackson (Madison) Edwards, Davis Edwards and Cade Edwards; great-grandchild, Shepherd Howell Edwards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Floyd Edwards and her sister, Glynnette Reid.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at the funeral home.
