Lance Maddox Harper

Lance Maddox Harper, 16, of Warwick passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at his residence after a long battle with Hunter’s Syndrome.

Lance was born in Tifton on February 23, 2010. Lance was full of life and enjoyed rock and roll music. He also loved football and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. He had the biggest smile and could brighten any room he walked into and stole the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He loved his family, but especially his Papa. In Lance’s words he was a “hungry little man.” He loved to eat, especially “chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.” He would jokingly say that he was 44. To Lance, everyday was his birthday or Christmas.

He is survived by his parents, John Walter Powell and Deidra Morgan Harper of Warwick; sister, Rylee June Powell of Warwick; maternal grandparents, who he affectionately called Papa and Mimi, Travis and Leigh Harper; paternal grandparents, Pete Powell and Gloria Powell. He is also survived by aunts, Merenda Harper, Amber Tripp and Felicia Young, several uncles, cousins and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Yvonne Mayo and Connie Maddox; and a great-grandfather, Hue Maddox.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
