Joyce McHugh Reed

Joyce McHugh Reed, 106, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025.

Joyce was born in Pitts on September 6, 1918 to the late Joseph and Dicie Nipper McHugh. She was a retired seamstress and a homemaker. She was also a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. Her family moved to Turner County and she lived in the Amboy Community for 100 years. Joyce loved to cook and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Hasty of Rebecca; sons, Charles Glenn Reed of Ashburn and Robert Wayne Reed of Rebecca. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Bobbie Reed and her siblings, James McHugh, Irene Segiler, Betty Reese and LaDonna Lundy.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2025 in Rainey Cemetery.
