John Daniel "Dan" Beard

John Daniel Beard , known mostly as "Dan" left this world on his own terms December 23, 2025. Kind of like the life he lived, he believed in a job well done and no excuses. He left family behind that will truly miss him!!

He was born on January 15, 1946 to the late John L. Beard and Georgia Pauline (Wood) Beard. He grew up in South Georgia and when he was old enough he joined the Navy during which time he met his dearly departed wife, Diane (Peron) Beard. She was a California girl. They married and spent their early years in the Los Angeles area before moving back to South Georgia. They had two children. He worked hard and provided for his family. He retired from Kelley Manufacturing Company with 30 plus years of service.

He enjoyed the simple kind of life. He loved motorcycles and owned several over the years. He was even a member of ABATE at one point. He also enjoyed NASCAR even though it was never the same after Dale Earnhardt died.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Holmes of Ashburn, brother Ben Beard of Ashburn, Grandchildren CJ (Bethany) Holmes of Ashburn, Cody (Karishma) Holmes of Valdosta , Great Grandchildren Kynzi, Presley & Adley Holmes of Ashburn.

In addition to his mother, father, and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Beard and brother, Mike Beard.

The family will receive visitors at their home - 350 Beard Road in Ashburn on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
