Jessie C. Youngblood

Jessie C. Youngblood, 96,  passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home in Ashburn.

Jessie was born on January 23, 1927 in Comer, GA to Randall and Leonia Edwards Crowe and has resided in Ashburn for over 60 years. She obtained her Bachelor's degree at Mercer University in 1968 and later her Master’s degree from Valdosta State College. Jessie retired from teaching after leaving her mark on the students in Turner County for over 25 years as a math teacher and librarian. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Ashburn where she was actively involved with the Happy Sunday School Class. Jessie had many hobbies including golf, needlework, and reading. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.I. Youngblood, Jr.; her daughter, Jenny Youngblood Swinford; brothers, R.H. Crowe, Jr., Ray Crowe, and Jimmy Crowe; and sister, Edna Greene. 

She is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family wishes to thank Faye Davis, Pearly Davis, as well as the caregivers with the Linda Gray Agency for their devotion and phenomenal care. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Ashburn with interment to follow at the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church.
