Jerry Reed

Jerry Reed, 87, of Ashburn passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his residence. 

Jerry was born in Rebecca on January 19, 1935 and was the son of Guy and Leona Light Reed. He was a farmer and was recognized as the Turner County Farmer of the Year in 1980. Jerry served his country with honor in the United States Army. He was a good, Christian man who was always willing to help anyone. Jerry was a devoted elder at House of Prayer in Ashburn. He loved his family and prayed for his generations to be standing until Jesus returns. 

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Britt Reed of Ashburn; brothers, Theron (Ann) Reed of Ashburn and Don Reed of Ashburn; daughters, Sharon (Danny) Wise of Ashburn, Robin Reed of Ashburn, and Kim (Bill) Daniels of Ocilla; sons, Rodd (Linda) Reed of Ashburn and Clay Reed of Omega; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheree Joyner, a grandchild, and 7 siblings. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Interment will be private.
