Emily Berry Hobbs

Emily Berry Hobbs, 89, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Pruitt Healthcare in Ashburn.

Emily was born on August 5, 1936 in Ashburn to the late Leon and Magdalene Boyd Berry. She was a teller having worked at South Georgia Banking Company. She was also a faithful member of Dakota Baptist Church. Emily loved to travel and shop. Her favorite place to visit was the beach with her family. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Tami (Randall) Manders of Ashburn and Ginger (T. Greg) Brown of Ashburn; grandchildren, Mark (Shauna) Shealy, Missy Shealy, Brandi (Lee) Hoffman, Michael (Lacey) Donahoo, Mitchell (Morgan) Donahoo, Matt (Whitney) Hobby and Brittany (Joey) Hickok. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Malichi Hobbs; step-mother, Wedthu Berry; daughter, Vicki Shealy Donahoo; son, Marvin Kimball Hobbs; son-in-law, Steve Shealy; siblings, Billy Berry, Betty Parker and Mary Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 10:00 Am until 11:00 AM Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
