David Glenn "Muley" Williams, Sr.

David Glenn “Muley” Williams Sr., age 74, of Ashburn, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, July 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

David was born in Tifton, Ga on December 28, 1951, to Thomas Elzie Williams Sr. and Louise Houston Williams. He grew up in the Coverdale community on the family farm. He attended Turner County Schools where he especially enjoyed helping in the lunchroom his 7th and 8th grade years for extra milk. He graduated Class of 1969.

After graduation, David worked at the Turner County Stockyard for several years and farmed the Williams family farm. In 1983, he began driving a semi-truck, and after 27 years, he retired from Southern Ag Carriers. David enjoyed spending his retirement at home.

David loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Affectionately known to most as “Muley,” he will be remembered for the life he lived, the people he loved, and the many treasured memories he leaves behind.

David is survived by his three children, Jennifer Knight (Michael) of Clover, South Carolina, David Williams Jr. (Sherry) of Ashburn, Georgia, and Sherry K. Williams of Ashburn, Georgia; four grandchildren, Rhett Reeves, Cody Reeves, Courtney Williams (fiancé Jonathan Crowe), and Austin Williams; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Faye Cook of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Sammi K. Thompson (Curtis) of St. Johns, Florida. He is also survived by Jason Johnston (and family), who held a special place in David’s heart and whom he loved like a son. David also leaves behind his faithful furry friend, Pluto.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, and four siblings, Peggy Paulk, Ray Williams, Tommy Williams, and Tim Williams.
