Charles Henry Wideman, Jr., 76, of Rebecca passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. 

Charles Henry was born on March 20, 1948 in Turner County to the late Charles Henry, Sr. and Mary Jo Wideman. He was self-employed as an insurance agent for many years. Charles Henry was a long time member of Rebecca Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed deep sea fishing. Charles Henry was known for his fish frys and loved having friends and family over to eat. He gave his time to others by helping with the Turner County 4-H shooting sports team and led them to a state victory in 1991. Charles Henry loved spending time watching NASCAR and the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Roberts Wideman of Rebecca; son, Charles Henry Wideman III of Rebecca; and grandson, Thomas Gage Wideman. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Clay Wideman, brother Tommy Joe Wideman, and his first wife, Sue Browning Wideman. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Rebecca Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at the church from 9:30AM until the hour of the service. Interment will be private.
