Carlos Ray Truelove, born on March 4, 1962, in Turner County, left this world on January 19, 2026 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
A dedicated self-employed truck driver, Carlos was the proud owner of Right Lane Trucking, where he poured his heart and skill into every mile he drove. Throughout his life, he was known for his deep love for family, embodying a spirit of kindness and affection that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His warmth and caring nature mirrored his professional drive, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his work, Carlos had a passion for motorcycles, proudly sharing his love for the open road as a member of ABATE. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including his favorite pastime of watching Gunsmoke, relishing the stories and characters that resonated with his own values of loyalty and honor.
He is survived by his wife, Genny Nutt of Tifton; son, Joey (Mandi) Hutto of Ocilla; sisters, Gloria (Tommy) McNair of Warwick and Donna (Geoffrey)Pate of Arabi; special cousin, Mary Ann (Mike) Stanaland of Tifton; grandchildren, Lane Hutto, Kade Atkinson and Kalem Atkinson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janey and Mike Walker of Ashburn. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy and Edna McCook Truelove; father and mother-in-law, Homer and Lucille Crumpton. He was also preceded in death by his fur babies, Miss Addy and Biscuit.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2026 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
