Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
On Monday October 20, 2025 at 4:47 pm, Heaven’s gates opened and God’s angels arrived to guide Alma Faye Saylor to the light. The heavenly choir sang, and asked Faye to join in. She peacefully accepted God’s call and her gentle soul was lifted on angel’s wings to heaven. She was in the presence of loving family, children’s laughter, and friends who had spent the day telling her how much she has meant to us all of these years and singing some of her favorite songs.
Faye accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age in her life. She was a woman of pride, a woman of respect, a woman of strong will who had enough love for everyone who came into her life.
Faye was born April 19, 1939 to the late Jessie Lee Floyd Hudson (mother) and the late Robert Lee Hudson (Father) in Madison, Fl. She was the middle of three children. She was preceded in death by both siblings Bob Hudson and Rochelle Hudson Copeland. Faye had a special sister in Christ, Jean Wiley NeSmith.
Faye graduated from Ashburn High School in 1957. She was voted most likely to succeed in her senior year of high school. She attended ABAC and the school of X-ray technology and spent most of her life working in the Insurance/Healthcare field. She met the love of her life (Harold Dean Saylor) when she was just 16 years old while working at their family owned Ashburn Theatre. They celebrated 64 years of marriage this year.
They started out in Sycamore, then moved to Tifton, Memphis, TN, Savannah, back to Tifton and lastly Sycamore back to their roots.
Faye always wanted a big family. Out of six pregnancies she gave birth to Michael Scott Saylor in 1963 and Marla Suzanne Saylor Green in 1966.
Faye is known by many names. She is mama to Scott (Kim Taylor) and Suzanne (Keith Green). “Moe”, as she was affectionately called by her husband and family at times was hard working and always lived by the rule “if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right!” She LOVED her family. She loved her Hudson family, she loved her Floyd family, and she deeply loved the family she created. Her greatest passions in life were being with family, hunting, gardening and working in her yard when she was able, and reading. Even though she was legally blind and deaf in one ear, she learned how to do audibles and listened to books everyday of her able life. She also loved traveling and listening to gospel and country music and cooking.
Her oldest grandson Corey (Niobe Green) tagged her with the name Mimi in 1991 and she has been Mimi to Sydney Saylor Greene (Taylor Greene), Logan Austin Green (Kayla Janes), and Tyler Saylor (McKenzie Saylor) and Heather Dingler (Caleb).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Harold Dean Saylor; son Michael Scott Saylor (Kim Taylor) and daughter Marla Suzanne Green (Keith Green); Grandchildren Corey Alan Green (Niobe Green), Sydney Michelle Greene (Taylor Greene), Logan Austin Green (Kayla Janes), and Tyler Saylor (McKenzie Saylor), Heather Brooke Dingler (Caleb Dingler).
Faye was blessed with 7 beautiful great grandchildren Anzleigh Blaire Saylor (Sydney), Jackson & Calvin Saylor (Tyler), Saylor Green (Logan), and Grayson, Canaan, and Annalee Dingler (Heather Dingler). Faye had an extended family of nieces and nephews...way too many to name for fear of missing someone.
She had special cousins that she made sure to always remember in endearing ways: Ethylene Wisenbaker, John Hudson, Betty Oliver from Monticello, Percy & Joann, Donnie Floyd, and Charlie and Clara Floyd. She also leaves a host of additional cousins and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Al Copeland, Colton Copeland, Bill Copeland, Don Saylor, Tim Saylor and Eston Saylor.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, October 24, 2025 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
