Virgil W. Davis

Funeral Services for Virgil W. Davis, age 82, of Ashburn will be held Monday at 2:00 P. M. at the Harmony Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Davis died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Davis was a native of Eagle Lake, FL and was the son of the late Baskel L. and Mamie Lavada Wallace Davis. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and has been a resident of Turner County since 1954 and was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother W. A. “Billy” Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 54 1/2 years Sara Ryles Davis and his son and daughter-in-law Steve and Carole Davis of Ashburn and one brother Marvin J. Davis, Arabi.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from six until eight.
