Louise Sumner

Funeral services for Louise Wood Sumner, 74, of Poulan, Ga. will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the New Hope Baptist Church in Turner County, Ga. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sumner died Thursday at Sylvester Health Care following an extended illness.

Mrs. Sumner was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late William Jasper Wood and Rosie Evers Wood Gant. She was a retired seamstress and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Sumner and one son, Wayne Sumner.

She is survived by two sons, Darryl (Erika) Sumner, Arabi, Ga.; Jerry (Tammy) Sumner, Sylvester, Ga. Also surviving is her companion, Cliff Suggs, Poulan, Ga., three sisters, Bessie Cole, Ashburn, Ga., Kate Wood Garner and Betty Moore, both of Sycamore, Ga. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
