Charles Corey

Graveside funeral services for Charles Corey, 80, of Ashburn will be held Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Ga. Mr. Corey died Thursday at Heritage Health Care in Ashburn following an extended illness.

Mr. Corey was born in Crisp County, Georgia and was the son of William B. and Carrie Mae Taylor Corey. He was retired from the Tift County Road Department and was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn, Ga. He was a former Police Officer for the City of Fitzgerald and a former employee of the Fitzgerald Road Department and Planter’s Warehouse. He was formally in the timber business. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Fitzgerald Corey.

He is survived by his daughter Patsy (Bill) Mead, Hamilton, Ga.; five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30-1:30 P.M at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, Ga.
