Melvin G. Giddens

Funeral services for Melvin G. Giddens, 46, of Ashburn will be held Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Giddens died Thursday at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Giddens was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and was the son of the late Clinton G. Giddens and Mary Ella Ward Giddens Craft. He had lived most of his life in Turner County and was of the Baptist Faith. Before becoming disabled, he was a chef working in several fine dining establishments.

Mr. Giddens is survived his sister and brother in law Sharon Giddens and Jamie Ming of Georgetown, Ga. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
