Harriet "Happy" McLeod

Funeral Services for Harriet “Happy” McLeod, 71, of Sycamore, Ga. will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Ashburn First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. McLeod died Tuesday at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. McLeod was born in Topeka, Kansas and was the daughter of the late Harold E. “Woody” and Ruth Graves Woodcox. She was a member of the Ashburn First United Methodist Church. She loved to watch Triple Crown Horse Races, was an avid reader, and enjoyed movies. She was a secretary for the Turner County Board of Education, a homemaker, and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ralph E. McLeod.

Mrs. McLeod is survived by two sons, Steve McLeod, Sycamore, Ga.; Alan (Shelley) McLeod, Tifton, Ga., and one daughter, Kathy McLeod (C.L.) Smith, Tifton, Ga. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Elsie Newton McLeod, Sycamore, Ga., and her grandchildren, Adam and Blake McLeod, Moultrie, Ga., and Ashley and Justin McLeod, Tifton, Ga.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
