Buford William Goulden, 86, residing at 685 Cedar Drive, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, with family at his side in his home in Ashburn, Ga. Mr. Goulden was born on November 1, 1923 in Dougherty County to parents Malcolm and Mattie Leigh Golden. He was the first born son in a family of three boys and one girl. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He moved to Turner County in 1947 and made Ashburn his home. He married Jimmie Jeanell Allison on January 10, 1947. In 1995, he retired from Coley Fertilizer. Mr. Goulden enjoyed retirement life for the past 15 years.

He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. He enjoyed a good baseball game and spending time outdoors with friends and family. He loved sharing life stories with everyone he met. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him He was a gentle and kind man.

Mr. Goulden is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jimmie Jeanell Goulden, Ashburn, Ga.; son and spouse Jimmy William Goulden and Linda, Ashburn, Ga.; two daughters and spouses, Brenda Delois Puckett and Dick, Ty Ty, Ga.; Pamela Sue Kidwell and Greg, Panama City, FL,; Grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy Goulden and Melissa, James Puckett and Suzie, Jennifer Carpenter and Bo; Wendi Wood and Morty, Kenny Crum and Gigi Lage and Mackenzie Kidwell; Great Grandchildren: Mario, Julia and James Goulden; Matthew, Jacob, David and Sarah Grace Puckett; Bree, Charlie and Katherine Carpenter; Thomas and Kylie Wood and Kai Crum; Brother and spouse Minton Goulden and Shirley, Albany, Ga.; sister-in-law Montez Gilles and many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Goulden was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Leigh Goulden; sister and spouse Doris Bynum and Allison and brother Billy Goulden.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Sycamore Baptist Church, 44 East College Street. Pastor Jerry Cooper will officiate. The committal service will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Dexter Wilson will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
