James Edward Turner

Funeral Services for James Edward Turner age 59 of 216 S. Gordon St. Ashburn will be held Sunday at 2:30 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Turner died Wednesday August 12, 2010 at the Atlanta V. A. Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Turner was a native of Cordele, Georgia the son of the late Hayward R. Turner and Mildred Lorene Moore Turner Burnette of Cordele. He was retired from the Public Works Department for the City of Ashburn. He served in the U. S. Navy in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church and Crisp County High School Graduate and resident of Ashburn for 33 years.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife Celia Lavender Turner, Ashburn his brother Ronnie (Eileen) C. Youngblood and his sister Janice T. (Marion) Coleman, Cordele.

Family will receive friends Saturday evening from Six until Eight at the Funeral Home.
