Funeral Services for Stantley Nelson, age 80, of 50 Joe Lawrence Road Sycamore will be held Sunday May 16, 2010 at 3:00 P. M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Nelson died Friday at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Nelson was a life long resident of Turner County. The son of the late Walter Chester and Eunie Frances Mauldin Nelson. He was a retired farmer, a heavy equipment operator, and master carpenter. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and a Mason member of Sycamore Lodge # 210 F. & A. M. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a grandson, Ross Williamson, and two sisters Alma Grace Morris and Effie Mae Wynn.

Survivors include his wife Marlyn W. Nelson, a son H. Ricky Nelson and a daughter, Theresa (Thomas) Williamson all of Sycamore. Two brothers Durel Nelson, McDonough, Ga. and Quinton Nelson, Denison, TX and one sister Faye Gilley, Sycamore. Three grandchildren, Amy Marisa Williamson, San Angelo, TX. Megan (Bobby) Caton, and Chessley Nelson both of Sycamore; Three great-grandchildren, Karli Caton and Camden Caton of Sycamore and Caleb Nelson, Ashburn.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the funeral home.
