Martha Lou Britt

Graveside funeral services for Martha Lou Britt, 91, of Fitzgerald, will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Britt died Wednesday at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.

Mrs. Britt was born in Ashburn and was the daughter of the late James Grover and Annie Lynn Ryals Cooper, Sr. She was a long time resident of Ashburn before moving to Fitzgerald in 2004. She loved to cook and spending time with family and friends. She had a unique ability in making each and every holiday special. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Sycamore. She was the widow of the late Homer Lee Britt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Burdett and one grandson, Craig Burdett and one great grandson, Tyler Howell. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy B. Jolley, Montgomery, Alabama and Deborah Britt of Albany, Ga. Also surviving is one sister, Betty Jane Stanford, Martinez, Ga. and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00-2:30 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
