Doris Laverne Suggs

Graveside funeral services for Doris Laverne Suggs, 85, of Fitzgerald, Ga. will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Red Oak Cemetery in Worth County, Ga. Miss Suggs died Tuesday in Fitzgerald Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Miss Suggs was born in Doles, Worth County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late Jarrett Hosea & Alma Inez Reynolds Suggs. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1935 and attended Fitzgerald High School. She worked at the Macon Naval Ordinance Plant during World War II and the Monarch Company in Fitzgerald. She retired from H.R. Kaminski & Son in 1987.

Miss Suggs is survived by three sisters: Core Lee Howard and Bernice Hageman, both of Fitzgerald, Ga. and Tiny Van Koellmer, Kennesaw, Ga. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
