Tena Marie Tanner, 62, of Ashburn passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at her residence.
Tena was born in Turner County on April 15, 1960 to the late John Terrell and Eula Othell Howell Ward. She was a homemaker and a member of New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church. She loved working in her flowers and making flower arrangements. She loved fishing and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Above all she loved her family dearly and enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner for them.
She is survived by her daughter, Tashula (Kent) Tucker of Arabi; Troy (Jessica Douglas) Tanner of Ashburn; siblings, Melba (Mack) Brown of Ashburn, Teresa Ward of Ashburn and Terry (Donna) Ward of Texas; grandchildren, Matthew (Niki) Tanner, Brian (Mika) Tucker, Logan Tucker, Elijah Tanner and Dakota Tucker; great-grandchildren, Hunter Hall, Brentley Tanner, Maddie Tanner, Bevi Tanner, Teaghan Tanner, Jojo Tanner and Adalee Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Ward, Jerry Ward, Mary Craft, Sue Tripp, Patsy Brooks, Zelda Fender and Nell Handley; grandchild, Emily Grace Tanner; father of her children, Troy Tanner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Perry Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
While flowers will be accepted, for those who wish, please make donations to New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church.
