Huelen Ira Hammock, 85, of Tifton, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Southern Oaks Personal Care Home in Tifton.
Huelen was born on April 12, 1936 in Soperton, Georgia to the late Ira "Bo" and Laura Marie Hester Hammock. He was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church. He was also retired from the R. C. Cola Company and from Tiftarea Academy where he was a bus driver. He enjoyed keeping up with his former students that were on his bus route over the years. Huelen also served his country with honor in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Christy) Cooper of Tifton and Tina (Greg) Wood of Tifton; grandchildren, Austin Cooper, Dustin (Kristen) Cooper, Hope (Bobby) Stout and Taylor Wood (Lauren Cannington); great-grandchildren, Nolan Cooper, Ava Cooper and Murphy Stout.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Lillian Chafin Hammock and his second wife, Celia Lavender Hammock.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Tift Memorial Gardens.
