Patsy Gibbs Wilson

d. September 22, 2021

Patsy Gibbs Wilson, 82, of Sycamore passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.

Patsy was born on November 10, 1938 in Rebecca to the late James F. and Clifford Reed Gibbs. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and active in Sunday School as long as her health permitted. A graduate of Ashburn High School, she played on the basketball team and later played for ABAC. As an avid Braves fan she would seldom miss a game. She would listen to the Braves on the radio when the game was not televised. Patsy worked for many years at the Ashburn Bank before retiring. She was devoted to her family and rose before everyone to make sure her children had breakfast before they went to school. She would also make sure her boys got to their little league games. She enjoyed putting up fresh vegetables and preparing Sunday dinner where your attendance was always appreciated.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jimmy Wilson of Sycamore; four children, Russell Wilson of Warwick, Belinda Rowan of Tifton, Keith Wilson of Kansas City, Kansas and Rodney Wilson of Leesburg; daughters-in-law, Flavia Wilson of Kansas City, Kansas and Suzanne Wilson of Leesburg; brother, Cliff (Sheila) Gibbs of Tifton; six grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Buddy Gibbs, Betty Gibbs Matsche, Phil Gibbs and Penny Gibbs; and son-in-law, Larry Rowan.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Bethel Cemetery. For those who wish to pay their respects and sign the family's guest register, you may do so Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
