Jerrold Robert Whitt, 67, of Rebecca, GA passed away, Thursday, April 8, 2021 of brain cancer and complications with Parkinson’ disease and dementia. Born on June 18, 1953 in Lakeland, FL to Frederick and Betty Whitt.

He graduated from Bartow High School in 1971. While at Bartow High School he was a member of the track team where he held the record for the Fosbury Flop (high jump) for at least a decade. He attended Seminole Jr. College in Sanford, FL from 1971-1973 before transferring to Florida State University in 1973.

He worked as a civil engineer for the Florida Dept of Transportation for 30 years and after retiring, he became VP of Hydo Solutions. He was a member of Shepherd RD Presbyterian Church where he sang in on the Praise Team. Jerrold was an avid FSU fan, enjoyed fishing, archery and drag car racing where he won several trophies.

Preceding him in death, his parents, Frederick W. and Betty Davis (Tilden) Whitt and a brother, Larry C. Whitt (Penny).

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Eileen (Lee) Ivanisin Whitt; Son, Jason Whitt (Lakeland), Step-Granddaughter, Ciera Goldman (Lakeland); Brothers, Glenn Whitt (Regina) Lake Wales, Eric Whitt (Cheryl) Lakeland and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation made in Jerrold’s name to the American Cancer Society
would be greatly appreciated.
