Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Davis, 91, of Ashburn will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Turner County. Mrs. Davis passed away, Sunday in Tifton following a brief illness.
The daughter of the late William and Mollie Cody Wooten, she was born in New Brockton, AL and was a homemaker. A member of The Harmony Baptist Church, she was a loving wife, mother and friend to everyone. She loved to cook and always had plenty of food to share. She considered herself “a mother to everyone”. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, William “Billie” A. Davis, a daughter Connie Ruth Davis; her siblings, Elmer Wooten, Delmer Wooten, Lee Spears, Lloyd Wooten, Gene Wooten, John Wooten and Joe Wooten.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Nancy) Wooten, Randy Davis and Lisa Harrell all of Ashburn; a brother, Huey Wooten of Georgetown, AL; her sister Agnes Hartley of Plant City, FL; her grandchildren, Lloyd Wooten, Lori Wooten, Courtney Garrett, Carie Whiddon, Will Harrell and Cassi Clark. She is also survived by Seventeen Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
Due to inclement weather, all services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Davis will be held at the funeral home today. The committal service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery. All family and friends are welcome to attend the committal service Friday.
