Melba Wise Satterfield, 71, of Cordele passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her residence.
Melba was born in Turner County on September 17, 1948 to the late James Ollie and Nettie Era Lamb Wise. Melba worked at Carter's in Cordele for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her sons, Scottie (Dawsey) Satterfield of Jerseyville, Illinois and Keith (Pam) Satterfield of Cordele; sister, Patricia Lumpkin of Tifton; brothers, Tommy Wise of Tift County, Ray Wise of Eastman and Carl Wise of Williamson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harris G. Satterfield who passed away in August, 2019 and her siblings, Mary Frances Whiddon, Lamar Wise, Lonnie Wise, Donald Wise, Sylvia Louvise and Bobby E. Wise.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 23, 2019 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
