Clifford Day

Funeral services for Clifford Day, age 80, of Ashburn will be held Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Live Oak Cemetery. Mr. Day died Friday at his residence following a sudden illness.

Mr. Day was born in Irwin County, Georgia and was the son of the late Robert Newton & Samantha McElroy Day. He was a retired truck driver and had lived in Turner County for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was an avid deer and bird hunter and loved working his cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Betty “Cooter” Alberson Day of Ashburn, one son, Tommy Day of Ashburn and one daughter, Sherry Day of Jacksonville, Florida. Also surviving are one brother, J.R. Day of Irwinville, Ga. and one sister, Christine Clements of Rutherford, N.C. Mr. Day is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
