Joe Boyd Ireland, 85, of Ashburn passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Joe was born in Turner County on October 16, 1933 to the late Carl Andrew and Orie Lillie Rutledge Ireland. He was a mason with Sycamore Lodge #210 F&AM, a member of the Turner County Young Farmers and a member of Dakota Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, Scotty (Tammy) Ireland of Ashburn and Bill (Karen) Ireland of Ashburn; brothers, Jack Ireland of Ashburn and Eddie M. Ireland of Ashburn; sister, Hortense Burdett of Sycamore; grandchildren, Ryan Ireland, Katelyn Ireland, Ryan Newborn, Ashlee Newborn, Patrick Ireland and Shady Ireland.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Minda Ireland and a sister, Frankie I. Wiggins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Ashburn First Baptist Church with interment to follow in Dakota Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
