Funeral services for Robert Morgan, 71, of Ashburn, Ga. will be held, Wednesday, January 16, 20l9 at ll:00 AM in the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Morgan passed away on Sunday after a brief illness at Tift Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The son of the late Warren H. and Dorothy Reese Jones Morgan, he was born in Cordele, Ga. Robert was Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Ashburn. He was in the Army during the Vietnam war. He was a devoted husband to Janie Ruth Morgan. He was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Robert loved to fish and loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Janie Ruth Morgan and children, Andy Stewart of Vermont , daughters, Christie (Matt) Roberson of Warner Robins, Ga and Hope Stewart of Ashburn, Ga. He was also survived by brothers, Mack A. Morgan (Donna) of Eastman, Buck (Linda) Morgan of Ashburn, and Timothy L. (Regina) Morgan of Sycamore and sister in law Christine Morgan of Albany. His grandchildren, Allie Kennedy, Cohen Kennedy, Addison Roberson, Rilynn Roberson, Sadie Stewart and Ava Stewart.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Morgan.
The family may be contacted at 150 Rose Circle, Ashburn, Ga.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
