Charlie V. Massey, 77, of Ashburn passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his residence.
Charlie was born in Turner County on September 26, 1940 to the late Russell Dee and Addie Evelyn Overby Massey. He retired as a manager with the Suwannee Swifty Stores. He was a Shriner with the Hasan Temple of Albany and a Mason with Sycamore Lodge #210 of Ashburn. Charlie was also a faithful member of Rocky Mt. Baptist Church. Mr. Massey served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Janice H. Massey of Ashburn; daughters, Melodee Massey of Ashburn and Aleisha Massey of Ashburn; son, Keith (Kim) Massey of Ashburn; grandson, Dillon Massey of Ashburn. He is also survived by his sweet mother-in-law, Jimmie A. Holley of Ashburn.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Judy Lacey and his brothers, Dee Wayne Massey and Gary Massey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 17, 2018 at Rocky Mt. Baptist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Gideons International, Post Office Box 347, Sycamore, Georgia 31790.
