Clinton Carter, Jr.

Graveside funeral services for Clinton Prentiss Carter, Jr., 151 South Labelle Ave., Sycamore, Ga. will be held at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, November 2, 2005 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:30-2:30 P.M. at the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Carter died Sunday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Carter was born in Fostoria, Texas and was the son of the late Clinton Prentiss Carter, Sr. and Willie Eva Collins Carter. He was a self employed building contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Diboll, Texas and the Burke Masonic Lodge #833 in Lufkin, Texas. He was a long time resident of Tifton, Ga. before moving to Sycamore, Ga. two years ago.

Mr. Carter is survived by five daughters: Debra Cunningham, Huntsville, Texas, Mary Anne Evans, Houston, Texas, Jeanne Moore & Linda Willis, both of Lufkin, Texas and Melissa Bryan, Orange, Texas. Also surviving is one sister, Barbara Tims, Georgetown, S.C. and seven grandchildren.
