Bennie Whiddon

Funeral Services for Bennie Ruth Nelson Whiddon, 90, of Ashburn, Ga. will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday at the Harmony Baptist Church in Turner Co. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Whiddon passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Tift Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born in Turner Co. to Benjamin Hill and Pearl Alberta West Nelson. She was a homemaker and member of the Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Ezekiel Whiddon, a son Sheriff Lamar Whiddon and her grandchildren, Janice B. Owens and Sheriff Donnie Sellars.

Survivors include her children, J. W. (Dot) Whiddon, Sr. of Ashburn Ga.; Evelyn W. (Harvard) Mann, Warwick, Ga.; Evon W. (Rex) Brooks, Appling, Ga. and Elaine W. (Ray) Pritchard, Ashburn, Ga.; Twelve grandchildren, Seventeen great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from Six until Eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
