Funeral services for Mike Carter of Locust Grove, GA, age 67, will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mr. Carter passed away Thursday at his home in Locust Grove, GA. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
The son of the late Roy Dean Carter and Flora Daphnia Hudgins Carter, he was born in Ocilla, GA and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician from Atlanta Board of Education. Mr. Carter served his country in the US Army. Mike was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Carter.
Survivors include his daughter, Hannah Carter of Savannah, GA; one son Michael (Melissa) Carter of Spring, TX; five brothers Dusty Carter of Cordele, GA; Harold (Pam) Carter of Ashburn, GA; Jim Carter of Tifton, GA; Alan Carter of Waycross, GA; Dennis (Joy) Carter of Sycamore, GA; two sisters Myra (William) Oliver of Ty Ty , GA; Marcia Carter Britt of Tifton, GA and three grandchildren Kayla Carter, Callie Carter and Hodges Carter of Spring, TX. Also surviving is his sister in law, Rhonda W. Carter of Ashburn, GA.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until the hour of services at the Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
