Delena Shivers

Funeral Services for Delena Houston Shivers, age 84, of 4411 Hwy 107, Ashburn, Ga., will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday at the Rebecca United Methodist Church, Rebecca, Ga. with burial to follow in the Live Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Shivers died Tuesday September 13, 2005 at the Ashburn Health Care after long illness.

Mrs. Shivers was a native of Worth County, Ga. the daughter of the late Benney E. and Aubrey Griffin Houston, and the widow of the late J. Zeekes Shivers and was preceded in death by a son James D. “Red” Shivers. She was a member of the Rebecca United Methodist Church where she a was former member of the Board of Trustees and long time worker in the church.

She is survived by her children Harold & Edna Jean Shivers, Faye and Roger Wilson of Ashburn, a brother Griffin L. Houston, Poulan, Ga. and a sister Carolyn Melton, Albany, Ga. and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends seven until nine Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
