Funeral services for Virginia E. Alberson, 81, will be held in the Bethel Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29. Mrs. Alberson passed away Monday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the New part of the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The daughter of the late Emmette and Iona Jones Ellerbee, she was born in Turner County, GA. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Turner County. She was a retired nurse having worked at Tift Regional Medical Center for 28 years. She loved her vegetable garden and was an avid reader. Her special joy was caring for and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Alberson, Chula; her sons, Landon (Kathy) Alberson, Chula and Keith (Theresa) Alberson, Elgin, SC. She is also survived by her brother, Leo Ellerbee, Macon, GA; her sisters, Jeanette Daniels, Macon; Marie Jenkins, Jacksonville, FL; Shelvy Elder, Valdosta; Frieda Hobby, Ashburn and Fonda Cox, Peachtree City.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Alberson, Sarah Alberson, Nathan Reyes, Ben Alberson and Daniel Alberson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services at the Bethel Baptist Church.
