Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Yearty Smith, 78, of Doerun, GA will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday at her residence following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The daughter of the late William H. and Sallie Florence Farmer Yearty, she was born in Doerun, GA. She was a Charter member of The Landmark Baptist Church in Moultire, a former manager of C & M Fashions in Zephyrhills, FL and long time employee of Doerun IGA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Billy Yearty.
Survivors include her husband, Wyatt B. Smith of Doerun, GA; her daughter, Karen (Michael) Grantham of Bridgeboro, GA; her son, Scott (Janet) Smith of Sylvester, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly and Nichole Grantham of Bridgeboro, GA.
While flowers will be accepted, for those who wish, please make any donations to The Alzheimer’s Association of South GA, 225 East 2nd ST, Tifton, GA 31794.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
