Melba Holley, 78, of Ashburn passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born on July 18, 1938 to the late John L. and Martha Cornelia Crumpton Thompson, Sr. she was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She was also a retired seamstress.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Holley, Jr. (Romaine) of Ashburn and Randy Holley (Donna) of Ashburn; brothers, Jimmy Thompson of North Carolina and Joey Thompson of Baconton; sisters, Shirley Murphy of Sycamore and Gail Cleghorn (Charles) of Ashburn; grandchildren, Janine Henderson (Josh), Cassie Sylvester (Lee) and Clint Holley (Christian). She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McCLinton Holley, Sr., son, Johnny A. Holley, siblings, John L. Thompson, Jr. and Barbara Erskine, and a grandchild, Nathan Holley.
At the request of Mrs. Holley, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
