The funeral services for Oscar Wilkerson, 91, of Rebecca, Georgia will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Rebecca Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Wilkerson passed away suddenly on Friday, November 25, 2016 at his home.
The son of the late David Willis Wilkerson and Mae Belle Swafford Wilkerson, he was born in Forsyth County, Ga. Mr. Wilkerson was a businessman and farmer. He served in the U. S. Army in WWII. He was a member of the Rebecca Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Mr. Wilkerson was also a member of Woodman of the World.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice W. Adkins, his brothers Clark Wilkerson, Arthur Wilkerson, W. D. Wilkerson and Mack Wilkerson, sisters Pauline Raffield, Thelma Luke and Harriet Bohannon.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Virginia Williford Wilkerson, sons Frank (Elaine) Wilkerson, Wayne Wilkerson, daughters Diann W. (Alvin) Howard, Delores W. (Johnny) Helms all of Rebecca, Ga. and Lynn W. (Carl) Ireland of Locust Grove, Ga. Brother Delma Wilkerson, sisters Willie Mae Braziel both of Rebecca, Ga. Lily Stanford of Columbus, Ga. and Marie McKay of Marietta, Ga. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday at 12:30 until the hour of service at the Rebecca Baptist Church.. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca, Ga.
