Funeral services for Mr. Melvin “Skeet” Sumner, 67, of Leesburg, GA will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mr. Sumner passed away Thursday in Sumter County following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Sycamore.
The son of the late Curtis and Mary Bell Willingham Sumner he was born in Turner County and was a farmer with Hobbs Farms. He was a member of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing with his dogs and hunting.
Survivors include his son, Curtis Feagin (Jayne) Sumner of Leesburg, GA, a sister Margie Cromer of Ashburn and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from Six until Eight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
