Venton Charles "Bug" Wynn

Funeral services for Mr. Venton “Bug” Charles Wynn, Jr., 73, of Sycamore, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, at Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Bug passed away Saturday in an Atlanta hospital following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The son of the late Venton Charles and Effie Mae Nelson Wynn, Sr., he was born in Irwin County, GA. He was a member of The Bethel Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was an RA leader for many years. He was a member of The Gideon’s for many years. In 1963, The Future Farmers of America awarded Mr. Wynn with The Degree Of American Farmer. In 1997 he was also awarded The Soil and Water Conservationist Award. He was a former council member for The City Of Sycamore.

Survivors include his wife of fifty four and half years, Margene Pirkle Wynn, his daughter, Melanie (Scotty) Raines, his sons, Marvin (Donna) Wynn all of Sycamore; Allen (Julie) Wynn of Round Rock, TX and Keith (Beth) Wynn of Perry, GA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, a brother, Wayne (Karen) Wynn, his sisters, Jeanene (Ronnie) Rainey and Jayne (Curt) Pylant all of Sycamore.

Additional survivors include his father in law, Gene Pirkle; a sister in law, Martha Ann (Keith) Carter all of Sycamore; his brother in laws, Leon (Barbara) Pirkle of Dahlonega; Donald (Patsy) Pirkle of Hahira; Gerald (Linda) Pirkle of Sycamore; Earnie (Sarah) Pirkle of Savannah. Mr. Bug was also preceded in death by his mother in law, Myrl Pirkle.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
