Archie Hobby

Funeral Services for Archie L. Hobby, age 92 of 1260 Amboy-Rebecca Road, Rebecca, Ga. will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 11, 2005, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Rebecca with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hobby died Tuesday at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Hobby was native and lifelong resident of Turner County, Ga. the son of the late Henry Franklin and Fannie Wade Hobby. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for the Senior Adult Men’s Class. He was past president of the Turner County Farm Bureau and former member of the Turner County Board of Commissioners and selected Turner County Citizen of the year in 1966.

He is survived by his wife Frances Hogan Hobby of Rebecca, three sons, William F. “Billy” Hobby of Rebecca, Lawson E. Hobby of Tifton and Wayne Hobby and a daughter Glenda Hobby both of Ashburn, his sister Henry Etta Dixon of Leesburg, Ga. and six Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from seven until nine at the funeral home.
