Dorothy Smith Hurd

Funeral services for Dorothy Smith Hurd, 77, of Ashburn, GA will be held Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ashburn. Interment will be in The Live Oak Cemetery in Turner County, GA. Mrs. Hurd passed away Tuesday at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

The daughter of the late James Hermon and Shirley Alberson Smith, she was born in Sycamore, GA and was a retired marketing assistant for Kraft Foods. She was the widow of William Hayes Hurd, SR. and was also preceded in death by a son, William Hurd, JR. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Richards, Angela Diane Paige and Sandra Kay Hurd all of Ashburn. She is also survived by six grandchildren and her beloved daughter in law, Valerie Vinson of Riverside, CA.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 until the hour of services at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
