Barney K. "Joe" Pate

Funeral services for Barney K. "Joe" Pate, 75, of Ashburn, Ga., will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday September 18, 2014 at Perry Funeral Chapel, interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, GA. Mr. Pate passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

The son of the late Larkin Joyner and Lucy Belle Maddux Pate, he was born in Ashburn, GA. and retired from Coley Farm Services. Mr. Pate was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was also an avid fisherman and Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Virginia B. Pate of Ashburn, GA., son Jeff pate of Sycamore, GA., daughters, Lydia (Bill) Huey of Ashburn, GA., and Michelle (Clay) Knight of Ashburn, GA., sister, Patricia (Bob) Payne of Sycamore, GA., and grandchildren, Will Huey, Jason Huey, Corey Pate, Lauren Pate, Josh Knight and Jared Knight all of Ashburn, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
