Funeral Services for Emily Rochelle Hudson Copeland, age 68 of Ashburn will be held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Copeland died Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center after an illness.
Mrs. Copeland was a native of Madison, FL to daughter of the late Robert Lee & Jessie Lee Floyd Hudson. She was a graduate of Turner County High school in 1963, The Macon Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in 1965 becoming a member of the A.R.R.T. (The American Registry of Radiologic Technology) and was a member for over forty years. She was a former member of the A.S.R.T. (The American Society of Radiologic Technology) and The Georgia Society of Radiologic Technology. She worked the last twenty years at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald before retiring in 2005.
She married Larry Allen Copeland (son of the late Lee Roy and Florence Cleghorn Copeland) in 1965. They were married until his death November 3, 2012. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Kay Copeland and a brother, Bob Hudson. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved her family, friends and her profession, cooking and country music.
She is survived by her children Al & Wendy Copeland, Bonaire, GA, Robbie & Kimberley Copeland, Tifton, GA and Bill & Kim Copeland, Acworth, GA and her grandchildren Stephanie & Joshua Rodriquez of Saratoga Springs, NY, Leigh Ann and Darryl Copeland of Bonaire, GA, Seth, Aaron & Matthew Smith and Colton Copeland, Tifton, GA, and Kathryn Foust, Will & Scarlet Copeland, Acworth, GA and a sister Faye Saylor, Sycamore, GA. and sisters-in-law Montine Hudson, Ashburn, Diane Gregory, Sycamore, Betty Lamb, Ashburn, Teressa Smith, Texas and brothers-in-laws Dean Saylor, Larry Gregory, Wayne Lamb, Danny Smith and a number of wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, 301 McLendon St., Ashburn, Ga. 31714
